Introduction

i-Nature Photography Workshop in essence is a Nature Photography Workshop. It is not only about technicalities in photography but focus are given more to the philosophy behind it. In fact, technicalities are secondary.

There are 3 major objectives for this workshop: -

1. Higher awareness
Awareness refers to our motive in photography. It’s the why we shoot what we shoot, the internal feelings and emotions and the part of internal self that wanting to express and experience.

2. Appreciate nature
Appreciation in nature comes from the awareness that we a part of nature, that we are not separate but an immediate extension of bigger picture. When we are not separate, we will be thinking and have considerations of what we do and the consequences. Ideally, we will become the cause instead of because! (effect)

3. Learning to see that leads to taking better photos
Learning to see is seeing others or nature as a part and not apart. Each photo is reflections of self – part of self. We are expressing and experiencing parts of self by utilizing tools that we are comfortable with – camera.

It’s like a painter using any medium accessible to express his/her artistry. Learning to see is to break away from preconceived paradigm, becoming receptive and allowing direct and indirect new information to influence experiences towards the subject.

For the premiere of i-Nature Photography workshop, the chosen location is Tasik Raban due to several reasons:-

  1. Lower cost to keep the fee at minimum
  2. Variety of photographic opportunities from close-up to landscape, from sunrise to sunset and a lot of subjects to be found which are aligned to the module and objective where learning to see and being proactive is utmost important in Nature Photography.
  3. Currently we are looking at 8 pax confirmed participants and expected to close the registration with 16 pax by 18th of this month (March). So if you are interested and still thinking, better hurry up. For this first round, I would like to maintain close interaction with all participants.

For you info, I'm honored that Ted Adnan will be in the team of facilitator. Meaning, you not only can capitalize on Nature Photography, on top of that you would have great reference on Portrait and Lighting from Master Ted.
